The Responsible Staff has a low degree of authority, except in emergency procedures, and must report to the Program/Treatment Director.
Standards of Job Performance

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Documented one year of freedom from chemical use problems.
- Must pass Applicant Background Check Study Approval.
- Knowledge of the philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of, and ability to, perform basic evaluation of a person’s behavior in relations to chemical
dependency.
- Attended training of Restore House Inc. Registered Nurse to nurse’s satisfaction to dispense
medications.
- Have common sense and good problem solving skills
Professional Qualifications
- Knowledge of chemical abuse and dependency.
- Knowledge of client rights and staff responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adult Act.
- Knowledge of Protective Procedures.
- Training in giving out medications and charting schedule intake of medication in the medication
record book.
- Good understanding of crisis management and be willing to contact the police, emergency services,
and set up admission to detoxification unit if client need to do so.
- Staff has to have good common sense in making the appropriate decision on calling the
Program/Treatment Director and when to call for assistance.
Job Responsibilities
- Support professional staff in supervision and assistance in programming from residents, excluding counseling services.
- Monitor treatment milieu outside of programming hours.
- Perform basic resident care functions, including monitoring resident hygiene and resident behavior as
relates to health status.
- Able to perform drug urine analysis screens and alcohol breathalyzer.
- Assist in areas of transporting residents to and from functions/appointments as assigned by
Program/Treatment Director.
- CPR and Basic First Aid certified.
- Complete routine duties to maintain the house such as: food prep/cooking, light housekeeping, etc.
- Monitor basic work assignments given to residents.
- Participates in resident staffing with other members of Staff.
- Fill out progress note in client’s charts when necessary.
- Pass out medication as directed in the Medication Training Class as taught by House RN.
- Participates in yearly Staff Training as required by Rule 31.
- Call RN if there are medication issues; when needed.
- Call Clinical Supervisor/LADC if there are issues with residents; when needed.
- ContactProgram/TreatmentDirectorifthereareemploymentorhouseissues;whenneeded.
